All changes will be added to the first post as well as mentioned somewhere in the thread. Hope to see you all in April; this one is going to be a blast.

Important Note: There is not running water on site. Please bring a container that can be filled so you have water. I will make sure they are filled for you. Also please be prepared for a small chance of rain as well as some pretty chilly temperatures at night. Hiese Hot springs is just down the road with some really nice hot water if you bring a swim suit.

Thaw Brawl Weather Report (Updated Daily)

Friday...Partly Cloudy with a slight chance of PM rain/snow in our local mountains. Highs 46 to 53. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.
Friday Night...Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain showers. Lows 33 to 40. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 20 percent.
Saturday...Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain showers and snow showers. Highs 49 to 59.
Saturday Night...Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain showers. Lows 28 to 36.
Sunday Through Monday...Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain showers and snow showers. Breezy. Highs 44 to 54. Lows 28 to 36.

Slight chance in Idaho means probably won't happen. Chance means there is actually a chance, with most of the showers being scattered so they will be hit and miss. I will update weather until I head up to the site Friday morning.

Event Schedule:
Fighting wise be prepared for some senario battles that will leave you gasping for breath at the end. There is even one that will require the use of the entire area!!! Bring your game faces this one is killer.

People who are planning on bringing and using red weapons and polearms will need to supply a willing volunteer back. 1 volunteer per weapon. There will be no exceptions to this.

Period drinking vessels will be required through out the span of the event. Water bottle at the field edge will be the only exception to this.

This year we are going to try to do a small poker tourney that will be open to any one who wants to play. It is a $5 buy in with the winner receiving half of the pot amount; the other half goes to help the realm grow.

Also some nasty pirates (not the goods ones from close by) stole and hide some valuable treasure from Kage. The pirates have hidden the diamonds around the area and Kage would very much like to have them back. Rewards will be given for the gems return. It is his hopes that with a good number of respectable pirates around he will get them all back.

cold at night, warm during the day. Thats the usual pattern.

Also just a friendly reminder that if you like to fish, the site is on world class trout fishing waters, but get a license as they are heavily patrolled. I will be catching all my meals :)

Pretty much what everyone said. You can expect weather to be as high as 70 during the day and as low as 30 at night. Hopefully the Bel gods are kind to us and we have weather like we have the last couple of years. I will be opening a pre-reg the first part of March. I don't have a paypal account but the realm might. I will post the details of that when the reg opens. Also I will have my goblin friends weather rock. We shall consult it Friday evening and Saturday morning and it will tell us all about the current weather.

Updated original post. Pre-reg is opening up for all those who would like to. Prices will go as follows: 16 and older = $15, 12 - 16 = $7.50, and 12 and under = free. If you are only coming up 1 day please pay at the event and find myself or Suferia; there is a good chance I will do some prorating. See top post for where to send pre-reg to. Please include a list of who you are paying for and when they will be up. The menu for feast should be pretty much complete. Feast gear will be required. Period drinking vessels will be required through out the event. If you bring a red or pole arm weapon you will need to supply a back for it to be checked on. 1 volunteer per weapon. Also I will have treasures hidden through out the entire area. If you find one bring it to me and you get a prize. They will be redeemable up until Sunday monring.

Not quite sure i agree with making whoever is planning to use a red/spear to supply a back. Way to easy to get a failed weapon on the field.

Either way, days off are planned, we will be there friday afternoon sometime.

We test someone else's weapon on that person.

I'll try to explain it better. If a person brings a red or pole arm then he/she must supply a back to other than their own to take the hit test. The owner of the weapon may not be the person being hit and preferably someone not from the same realm in addition it would be nice if the volunteer was veteran enough to know what is good and bad hits. There will be the same light medium and hard swings. A hard swing will be an almost shield breaking blow to the back (That is an exaggeration of course). If the weapon fails I'm sure we will know. I hope people make sure their stuff passes before they bring it out. I would sincerely hate to see a bunch of broken people because of poorly built/maintained reds. I foresee more reds failing then passing but in the end how this is run is entirely up to Purp and I will trust his judgement. Send him a pm or get him to post more about it.

Karion you should come down here and practice. You'll get all kinds of reds tested on you all the time. Trust me....... it's tons of fun.

What the red/spear thing is is if you bring a red you must have a red tested on you back (not yours obviously) or someone's back even from your realm to have someone's red tested on. This will reduce us having to round up backs to test reds/spears this will be implicated at chaos so I figured I would try it here :) as well as the red/spear will be fully checked prior to the hit test so if it fails it should be picked out before the hit test even selected backs can allow "failed" stuff on the field what I consider a solid hit not a fail and what you do are probably different where we have different pain tolerance hope this helps and feel free to pm me with questions where this was my idea

So Leaf are you head WC now? Did something change?

If I'm still in charge of checkin peoples **** I really dont care to much who the reds get checked on as long as they get checked right. Myself and two other people that I have already talked to will be checking everything. I'm not gonna make things more difficult then they need to be.

Nobody should be worried that weapons check will be a fiasco, I will make sure everything goes smooth and simple.

I guess I need to be a little more clear. I have little doubt that each and every weapon will be checked thoroughly and if it fails during the initial check, it wont be put on the field. My problem is with people supplying a back from their own realm to do the strike test. It's totally cool if that person finds someone not from their realm (hopefully a vet) to do the strike test. Doing something like that does indeed make it easier for weapon checkers, but when have weapon checkers ever had an easy job? It's their job to make sure the weapons at an event are legal and safe. In my opinion, weapons should never be checked by the owner(not saying this is going to happen) or struck on members of their realm. There is more then enough diversity at an event to get people from other realms.

Par's statement makes perfect sense though. Supply a back, not necessarily to test your weapon but to test someone elses's.
