Ticonderoga wrote:That looks pretty cool and sounds pretty cool! i wanted to make a sword with the blade length of a typical blue or ours where its like 22 inches or less i dont remember with a over sized handle like 30 inches. i dont mind the blade length its the handles i care for, just for that extra bit of death

I can name two different types off the top of my head I may eventually get around to building. (but don't count on it)
1) Big Swords. Cloud Strife. Ichigo from Bleach, Guts from Berserk. Etc. Etc. I read that a guy on these boards named Sleeper loves using redswords of this type.
2) Big **** Axe. Preferably built with a fancy, artistic blade profile for that true fantasy axe look. Then decorated with Plastidip on the flats and courtesy padding Fitz Caliston style.
I may eventually make a 4 1/2 foot OAL version of #2. (though definitely not anytime soon)

We called this one "El Kabong". I understand that when my son got it, she gave it a brown cover with guitar strings drawn on it.
This discussion dovetails with an idea I recently had. What do you guys think about a short (4-5 ft) polearm with a wooden handle and a 3/8" electric fence post drilled and glued into the handle to act as the core for the blade? To my thinking, this would allow some interesting handle shapes but keep some flexibility in the blade.

Ticonderoga wrote:I just thought of something pretty cool I guess. I'm a big videogame fanatic kinda. But what i'm getting at here is an Energy sword! I think that would be pretty cool the whole thing being a striking edge. I also think it would be sweet if the handle in the middle or what ever it is, could come off of the blades that would have a piece of PVC or something running all the way through it so you could have two swords! But I think I would just stick with the two swords disconnected rather than connected.

Ticonderoga wrote:Ok i have a really stupid question to ask. can i use pool noodles for a double ended sword? id rather not spend money on some camping pad when i allready some good pool noodles yeah they are big so they should not pass through the 2.5 inch hole er what ever and with the reaming pad i have i could build up the top so it wont pass through if they do.

Well it would also be fun to have a bazooka, but that's totally out of the context of this sport.
Ticonderoga wrote:Now this would be great for people who preffer a pole arm.
A Spear/Halberd/Glaive. It would be like the normal Halberd. With a blade and spear tip then on the other end a glaive. Or a sword with out a pommel but, another blade instead.
